The Awards

A major complaint of instructors is that they cannot determine which AVs are worth using in their classes. We hope to encourage greater AV through the AlgoViz Awards. The Awards process will showcase a collection of high-quality AVs, as determined by the user community. We are still finalizing the details of the nomination and voting processes, so if you have some ideas, come on over to the forums to join the discussion.

Submit a Nomination

Nominations are now open for the 2011 AlgoViz Awards. If there is an AV that you feel should be on the voting ballot but isn't, submit a nomination yourself. The awards committee will review each submitted nomination before adding it to the ballot. This will help avoid the issues of duplicate nominations and mis-categorized nominations.

Nominations will be closed on December 1, 2010.

Award winners will be determined by popular vote, so it is up to you to determine which ones are the best! The winners (up to 2 from each category) will be the nominees that have the highest average rating and exceed a minimum threshold on number of votes.

Voting will be opened once we have an initial slate of nominees. Stay tuned!

We intend to announce the winners and present awards at SIGCSE 2011 in Dallas, TX. Again, remember to come on over to the forums to join the discussion
